Orissa is a beautiful state full of floras and faunas.Its a state where you can explore the mind blowing beaches,the marvellous hilly areas and the alluring forests where innumerable faunas exist.You have to explore to find out so many answers that remain hidden in such offbeat tourist places of Orissa.So I am mentioning some unknown tourist spots in Orissa where you have to visit at least once to find out this state in a diffeternt way.
Phulbani-This place is a beautiful tourist place located 211 km from Bhubeneswar(capital of Orissa) and 165 km from Bherampur,one of the most important cities of South Orissa.It is situated in Kandhamal district.Its surrounded by hills and forests where you can find a lot of variety of flora and fauna.This place is near river Salunki.You can find a lot of waterfalls in here like Katramal waterfall which is the most spectacular waterfall in here situated just 31 km from Phulbani,Putudi waterfall which is a hot spot among the people of Odisha located just 16 km.Then comes the Pakdajhar waterfall located 3-5 kms from the small village called Sudrukumpa and is 19 km from Phulbani.And the last but not the least is the Umragarh waterfall located 21 km from this place.
Baripada-This place is situated in Mahurbhanj district in the state of Odisha.It is the cultural town of North Odisha.The river Bhudhabalanga flows to the east of this place.Nearby places to visit from Baripada are Simlipal forest,Jwala mukhi Temple,Jagannath Temple,Palace of Mayurbhanj,Baripada Museum.
Jeypore-This beautiful town was once the capital of Kalinga at the time of the reign of Ramchandra Dev.Jeypore was established by king Veer Vikrama Dev.It is surrounded by hills of Western Ghats and Araku hills on three sides like horseshoe.The western sid eof this region opens up to Chattisgarh in Central India.This town is located in Koraput district.This beautiful place is popular for fresh water lakes,waterfalls and valleys.62 affliated communities like Gond,Dhruva,Paraja,Koya lives here.The eastern part of this town consists of a big tank called The Jagannath Sagar which encourages a number of water sports.It is 22 kms from Koraput.
Rayagada-Rayagada is a beautiful district in southern part of Odisha.There are few tribes who lives here.The most popular are Khondas and Soras.There are many interesting places to visit near Rayagada.They are-
1)Majhighariani Temple-This temple is is in the town and is famous for shrine for Devi and was built by King Viswanath Dev Gajapati of Suryavansh dynasty of Nandapur.
2)Jagannath Temple-This temple is more than 50 years old.It is situated in southern part of Rayagada.
3)Laxminarayan Temple-In this temple Lord Shiva,Subhadra,Balabadra,Laxminarayan,Lord Jagannath,Hanuman all are worshipped by thousands of devotees.
4)Paikapada-It is situated in Therubali near Rayagada district.This temple is famous for Pateleswar Shiva Temple and is a popular tourist spot in Odisha.
5)Chaitikona-This place is popular for a number of Shiva temples and waterfalls.It is 48 km from Rayagada.
6)Devagiri Hill-This hill is 50 km from Rayagada district.You have to cross 476 steps to reach the top.At the top you will experience some lakes like Ganga,Yamuna,Saraswati,
7)The Hanging Bridge of Chakaguda-This bridge is Odisha's second hanging bridge.The first is .This bridge links Rayagada with two villages Mariguda and Chakaguda.Navagalli river flows under the bridge.
