Ten Offbeat Destinations of Himachal Pradesh




Himacha Pradesh Offbeat Places || In 2020,we are forced to stay at home due to Corona virus and its a pathetic condition that we who love travelling are just staying at home and cant able to explore.I also had planned many destinations in 2020 but all are in vein.Its been long that I hadn't travel to the beaches,mountains or forests.But travelling cant be stopped what I think.Bacause though we are not able to visit places physically but we can visualise with our inner eyes and can reach anywhere we like.
  
Now a days I am just sitting in front of my laptop and remembering the places which I visited by seeing the pictures and videos which I had shot.Today I am giving a detail information about ten offbeat destinations of Himachal Pradesh which very few of us know.


1) Renukaji- If you want to spend few days in peace and solitude then Renukaji is ideal for you. Its main attraction is Renuka Lake which is in the midst of beautiful green and snowcapped mountains. The waters of the lake are so clear like crystal that it seems God prevails there. This lake is the largest lake in Himachal. It is situated in Sirmaur district of Himachal. It’s well connected by roadways. This place is 672 m above sea level. A perfect blend of natural beauty and manmade marvels, Renukaji is worth to visit. In November a fair is organized for five days with the arrival of Parasuram, the son of Renuka, where lakhs of pilgrims visit from all over the country. But apart from that this place remains an offbeat place of Himachal.

How to Reach-HRTC bus departs every 1 hour from Kashmiri Gate,Delhi which will drop you to Renukaji.Renukaji can also be reached from Chandigarh via flight.From Chandigarh to Nahan via bus or cab.From Delhi to Ambala Cantonment station.From Ambala to Nahan via cab.

What to See-Renuka Lake,Suketi Fossile Park,Jaitak Fort,Churdhar Peak,Dhaula Kaun.

2) Gada Guashaini-This is a place full of greeneries and small flowing rivers. This is a place where you can spend for hours alone just listening to chirping of birds and whirling of the waters. It will soothe your mind. You will feel that you don’t need anyone. The nature is with you. It is welcoming you with both hands. Gada Guashaini is a small village in Banjar Tehsil of Himachal. It is a part of Mandi district.

How to Reach-From Mandi,you have to take a bus or cab to Aut.Most of the buses reach Manali or Bhuntar via Aut.

What to See-It is very near to Tirthan Valley so you can visit Jalori Pass,Seruvalsar Lake and Chehni Kothi.

3) Tirthan Valley-If you want to get lost in the lap of nature, then Tirthan Valley will not make you dissatisfied. The peace that prevails here will make you to be there every year. Surrounded by Great Himalayan National Park this beautiful valley is just beside Tirthan River. Best time to visit Tirthan Valley is in spring and summer.This place is located in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh.

How to Reach-From Delhi,the best way to reach Tirth is by road.Otherwise you can avail train or flight.The nearest station is Ambala or Kiratpur.From there catch a bus or cab.The nearest airport is Bhuntar.

What to see-Jalori viewpoint,Serolsar Lake,Great Himalayan National Park.

4)Pabbar Valley-It is located just 80kms from Simla.The valley is located in the belt famous for Pabbar river that’s cuts through the Chanshal Mountain range.You can enjoy rich flaura and Fauna,snow-clad mountains,awesome nature,rivers,ancient temples etc.

How to Reach-There are a lot of easy communication to reach Simla.From Simla you have to reach Rohru,the nearest town to the valley.The nearest railway station from Rohru is Kalka.

What to see-The nearest places to visit from Pabbar are Kufri,Jubbal,Hatkoi,Chanshal,Theog,Kotkhai and many more.

5)Thanedar-Located near to Simla.Its a 3 hour drive from Simla.Thanedar, at 7,300 ft, is still a small, one-street place with a few shops and government buildings surrounded by orchards.In April,the whole Sutlet valley is covered with apples and strawberries.Its a beautiful experience worthy to visit.In May-June,you can get rid of both the heat as well as the crowds of hill stations.

How to Reach-You have to reach Kalka by flight or train,then to Simla by toy train.From Simla book a cab to reach Thanedar.

What to see-Tani Jubbar Lake,Arya Samaj Mandir.

6)Shoja-Located in Seraj valley,links the Simla and Kullu districts.Shoja is a place very few of us known.Its a serene secluded place of Himachal.If you want to spend some days  or some hours in solitude thenm this place will not dissatify you.Best months to vosit are from April-June and September -October.In summer you can feel the beauty of nature.The snow-clad mountains,the green valleys will welcome youyu and if you visit in winter the white carpet of snow will take you into its arms and makes you feel on top of the world.

How to Reach-Nearest airport is Bhutar,nearest railway station is Chandigarh. Shoja is accessed by the Chandigarh-Manali NH21. Drive upto Chandigarh via Ambala. From there, follow NH21 to Aut via Mandi.From Aut, it’s a 35-km drive to Gushaini via Larji and Banjar.

 What to See-For the places to visit near to Shoja,Jalori Pass,Waterfall Point and Tirthan Valley are worthy to visit.

7)Barot-Located 40kms from Jogindernagar and 65kms from Mandi.Barot is a mesmerizingly beautiful village located in the serene valleys of Mandi District in the north Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.The location is famous for its numerous trekking trails passing through the village and hence is a preferred trekking destination too.

How to Reach-There are two ways to reach Barot.One via Mandi and other via Jogindernagar.At Mandi Bus Stand, locals will tell to get into any Baijnath/Kangra bound bus to reach Ghatasni.From there board the bus which runs from Baijnath to Barot.

What to See-Uhi River,Barot Temple,Nargu Wildlife Sanctuary,Chuhar Valley,Shanan Hydel Project.

8)Kheerganga-Located in Kullu district in Parvati Valley.This place is ideal for adventurous trekking and hot springs.Its still an unexplored destination and is the most gorgeous spot in HP.Starting point of this trek is Barshaini.

How to Reach-First you have to reach Kasol,a popular place in HP.There are a lot of local transport and private cabs to reach Barshaini.Barshaini is just 22kms from Kasol.

What to See-Parvati Valley,Kheerganga Waterfall.

Accomodation-There are no accomodation in Kheerganga.You have to stay in Kasol.

9)Prashar Lake-Located 49kms north of Mandi.Its one of Himachal's most serene and secluded destinations.The lake has unexplained depthness and the surrounding beauty will force you to visit again and again.The sage Prashar used to medicate there so its name is Prashar Lake.Bhima,one of Pandava brothers created this lake.

How to Reach-You have to reach Baggi village in Mandi district.Mandi is just 50kms from Prashar.

What to See-Apart from Prashar lake you can also see Pandoh Lake,Jalori Pass,Rewalsar Lake.

10)Kandaghat-Located in the Solan district which is on the Kalka-Simla.National Highway no 22.Located in stone throwing distance from major cities of Himachghal,Kandaghat is still an unexplored destination.It offers great views of snow-capped mountains and green valleys.

How to Reach-Kandaghat can be reached en route of the famous tourist destination Chail.It is eqidistantant from both Chail and Simla both are just 30kms away from Kandaghat.

What to See-Karol Tibba Hindu Temple,Tiger Hill,Mohan Shakti National Heritage Park.
